It should be listed as a 2-star hotel, not a 4-star one. They can tick almost all the facilities required to be listed as such, but:. huge problem with hygene, leftovers for breakfast (pay attention to the eggs!), yellowish mattresses & towels, riped pillows, no soap/ shower gel/ wifi. Spider webs, dust all over. Dirty shower. Old furniture. I guess that it would come in handy if you know that the place is frequented by a specific type of clients (funny experience to meets the girls on their way out). Also, funny to be told that they have a strict non-smoking policy, but to see cigarette marks on the window panel and to be able to smell pot on the entire 6th floor :)). This is the first bad review that I’ve ever given, but it was frustrating to point at all these problems and get a nod and a “we know, but we can’t and won’t do anything about it” type of answer. Their main and only concern is to take your money.
1. Administrator does not speak English 2. There are 2 beds in the room, but if another person comes, he needs to book a new room 3. Very rude receptionist, does not know how to communicate with guests, and does not offer any alternative 4. View from the window of a crumbling house 5. Beer water cash only 6. Surcharge only cash 7. The receptionist smokes GLO at the reception Wish from myself: teach the administrator to contact people, and allow all kinds of services to pay by card, we do not live in the Middle Ages.
Stayed here for four nights, shower was never cleaned, cups left unwashed, my own towel was taken and never returned and I found a stink bug in the room and one followed me in my coat to the airport, towels and sheets were paper thin and torn and all Hungarian tv channels.
Breakfast very basic. Staff spoke very little English
Had a reasonably comfortable sleep, warm room, had a huge room, had a kettle, lots of storage space, only a few metro stops from centre of town and stop is one block away. Managed to have boiled eggs and bread every day for breakfast and they even had earl grey tea bags , so not all bad. Just a shame about some of the things.
Budapest overall is beautiful, captifying and fascinating, well worth a visit.
the green hotel is situated between the city center and hero square it is also not far from the root for the hop on hop off bus the hotel is on the small side but offers really good value and very freindly and helpful staff we would recommend it
